Kevin Lunsford has devoted his life to the community he loves .
A lifelong resident of Walker County , Lunsford is the face of public safety in Huntsville , serving not only as the city ’ s police chief , but also overseeing all aspects of keeping the community a safe place to live from fire to first response .
“ I was born and raised just up the road in New Waverly , so this is home . My parents are from here , so rarely does a week go by that I ’ m not visiting with someone and talking about the history of the community . When you are a lifelong resident , you know the community and the community feels comfortable with you .”
