WALKER COUNTY FAIR & RODEO When : May 7-15 Where : Walker County Fairgrounds What : The Walker County Fair makes its long-awaited return for 2021 . The week-long event will feature a carnival and conclude with a two-day rodeo from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association . STREET FAIR & WINE DOWN , SHOP SMALL When : May 8 , 9 a . m . -9 p . m . Where : Downtown Huntsville What : The Huntsville Downtown Business Alliance will be celebrating 10 years of Wine Down , Shop Small . Enjoy wine tastings from 10 Texas wineries and food samples from eight local restaurants / caterers while strolling through our historic downtown . Businesses around the downtown square will host either a winery or a food vendor . Your ticket purchase will include a complimentary wine glass , wine bag , Bingo prize card , giveaways , 10 wine tastings , eight food stops and a night of fun and live music . Tickets can be purchased from downtown merchants .
SHOT IN THE DARK GOLF TOURNAMENT When : May 14 , 4-11 p . m . Where : Raven Nest Golf Course What : The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will bring this tournament unlike any other to Huntsville as the sun begins to set over Huntsville . The format is a 4-person scramble that begins at 4 p . m . with the first nine “ daylight holes ” and the second nine “ night-light holes ” beginning at dusk . Included with registration fee is dinner , beverages and snacks , two carts per team , golf towels , golf balls , shirts , hats , glow accessories and more . The event will also feature the popular Helicopter Ball Drop , where anyone can purchase a golf ball for the chance to take home one of three cash prizes . LITTLE JOE & LA FAMILIA IN CONCERT When : May 22 at 8 p . m . Where : Old Town Theatre What : During a more than 50-year performing and recording history , Little Joe y La Familia has become one of the top Tejano bands . GARY P . NUNN IN CONCERT When : June 5 at 8 p . m . Where : Old Town Theatre What : An icon in the Texas progressive outlaw music scene , Gary P . Nunn has shared the stages with some of the greats . He has composed tunes that were recorded by Nelson , Walker and Murphey , as well as Rosanne Cash , David Allen Coe and others , earning him several gold and platinum records for writing , publishing and performing . JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION When : June 19 Where : Emancipation Park What : Juneteenth , also known as Freedom Day , commemorates the end of slavery in the United States . Each year , the historic event is recognized with a parade through Huntsville and a program at Emancipation Park .
