LOOKING BACK ON 2022
Football season came to a close this season earlier in the year than most would have preferred but all three high school teams still showed out on the field .
The Hornets ( 4-7 ) saw a youthful roster rise to expectations . Huntsville would put itself in a position to make the playoffs with a regular season finale win , where the Hornets would come away with the fourth and final playoff spot .
New Waverly ( 7-4 ) would ride some ups and downs on the season as they finished with seven wins and a third seed in the postseason . While the season ended sooner than the Bulldogs would have hoped , they still had a successful season .
Alpha Omega Academy ( 3-5 ) would open its second season of 11-man football play and they , unfortunately , would miss the postseason . The Lions would take it all the way down to the final game of the season before a loss would end their season .
