The 2019-20 season ended in bitter
fashion for the Bearkats, who entered
the conference tournament with high
hopes, only to have the COVID-19 pandemic
put the sports world on hold the
day before their tournament opener.
Justice, her staff and the players are
anxious to get back on the court. And
although the Bearkats lose six seniors,
the head coach is excited for the opportunity
to take the program to new
heights with a mix of new faces and
returning veterans.
“I was rather impressed with how
fast the turnaround was, but I’m also
aware that it can go down at any time.
We want to maintain the same positive
energy and culture that we’ve established
the last two years,” Justice said.
“The thing we’re going to have to
experience this year is we’re going to
have so many new faces. Before, the
faces were the same, and the culture
changed. Now, we need the culture to
stay the same, with the faces changing.
That is a new challenge, but I’m excited
about it.”
