Floyd’s on 14th brings hometown taste
to the Huntsville food scene

As national restaurant chains continue to become more commonplace
in Huntsville, one establishment aims to bring a local flavor to its
community.
Rick Floyd partnered up with his brother John to launch Floyd’s on
14th in March 2018, and began serving up what he described as “Southern
bar food” alongside his son Dallas. And when Rick returned to the automotive
industry early this year, his son took the reins of the family business.
Dallas, who grew up in Huntsville and attended Sam Houston State,
takes pride in being a part of his hometown’s food scene.
“I didn’t expect it or think I would be in this position growing up, but it’s
really cool — especially to see people supporting the local businesses,” he
said. “I just feel like Huntsville needed more restaurants that are locally
owned with all the franchises we’ve been getting.
“In my opinion, the mom-and-pop restaurants have more flavor and better
food, and being able to bring that great-tasting food to the community is
just really cool.”
In a little over two years, Floyd’s has grown to become not only one of
Huntsville’s most recognizable food trucks, but one of its top dining options
as well.
