Sunil “ Sam ” Jhangiani
Sunil “ Sam ” Jhangiani is known in the community as Sam of Lee Baron ’ s , an athletic speciality store , he operates with his son AJ . This duo has been an inspiration to the entire community .
They have an annual toy giveaway , featuring Santa and donated Happy Meals . The Jhangianis have organized turkey giveaways and collected clothes for school
district students , raffling off a chance to buy limited edition Nikes , participated in parades , and recognized by organizations for outstanding contributions to the city .
Jhangiani was born in Hong Kong , where his father started the Lee Baron brand .
“ Life was the typical uphill battle many immigrants face . We learned early that we had to work harder than most if we had any chance of succeeding ,” said Jhangiani . His father traveled nine months out of the year just to keep food on the table . His mother raised them alone during their time in Asia . The family later migrated to Toronto , Canada . The family life improved enough to afford to apply for a green card to the United States .
“ I know this is a cliche answer , but my parents saw days when they had nothing more than bread to eat at night . They engrained the true meaning of hard work at an early age , and we all know that with hard work comes results ,” said Jhangiani .
“ I have been privileged to have many mentors in my professional career . I ’ m a firm believer that you can learn something from most conversations you have . I look up to many successful entrepreneurs as their success continues to inspire me to keep striving for the stars ,” said Jhangiani .
He grew up having to understand what my father did and established . That influence led me to modernize and aspire to grow the Lee Baron Brand . Jhangiani considers Huntsville a special place because the community is supportive , genuine and growing . He was born a premature baby , so life was a challenge from the first second . He thinks that ’ s why he has a strong belief in God . Anything is possible when you have faith .
The lessons he shares with his son and family are to try your best to be honest and show your gratitude to the dear Lord , as well as “ to be happy makes others happy .”
“ As my age continues to go in the wrong direction lol , I have realized that health must be a priority ,” said Jhangiani . He starts his morning with working , followed by some prayers , and then he starts the work day where he commute to Huntsville from Houston daily . This “ Difference Maker ,” learned you must be able to adapt to any situation that you are put in . Whether it is networking , closing a sale at the shop , or trying to connect with his family .
