County with all four teams ready to show out on the field .
Walker County football had some up-anddowns during the 2021 season with all but one team making the playoffs .
The Huntsville Hornets were the lone team to make the postseason but were also the only team to end the season with a win . Now , with a rebuilt roster Huntsville will look to be back in the UIL 5A , DII playoffs for the fifth time in six years .
Sam Houston State University football capped off one of the most historic NCAA seasons . The BearKats won 21 games including a national championship in the spring . The Kats would later announce a move to Conference USA that makes them ineligible for the 2022 FCS postseason . But with FBS on the horizon , Sam Houston will have to stay focused in a season that doesn ’ t bring any awards after nine games .
A brief 15-minute drive down Interstate Highway 45 south lands you with the New Waverly Bulldogs . The Dogs are coming off a season that saw their first playoff win since
2016 and now want more . With a new signal caller and the same play makers , the Dogs have a chance to be great .
Alpha Omega Academy will enter its second season as an 11-man football team . The Lions posted a 5-5 record last season in their first year back . With experience , AOA is looking to take the next step in TAPPS .
Now the only thing left is for the teams to play . I hope you all enjoy this upcoming season , because I know I will .
