Community Organization For Missionary Endeavor
The Center was founded in 1962 and was the first non-profit organization in Walker County.
This not-for-profit organization helps those in need with financial and utility assistance as well as manages a resale shop to help support the local community. They have many specialized programs including a voucher program for those seeking employment to obtain gently used work attire for their interview.
The programs that the COME Center operates and participates in include Special Services with financial assistance to pay utilities bills and rent; Hornets Witout Hives assisting homeless famlies through emergency services; Back to School drives to provide new socks and underwear to school-aged children as they return to school; Professional Clothes Closet for people in need of clothing for job interviews; college scholarships for graduating seniors; and more.
The COME Center is located at 342 Highway 75 North in Huntsville and operates from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. Tuesday through Saturday.
