Chamber Resources
The Huntsville Walker County Chamber of Commerce was organized in 1934 to improve the business climate in Huntsville and the surrounding areas . It is a volunteer-driven organization that unites business and professional leaders in the area to expand the economy . The chamber provides a venue through which members and volunteers can get involved and accomplish collectively what no one business could do alone . Today , we are a community organization working to recognize the factors which affect our community and adjust our programs accordingly . We focus on issues affecting the cities throughout Walker County .
Our Mission : To promote an environment to enhance the economic success of business in Walker County .
Our purposes include :
• to promote the human and environmental resources of Walker County ;
• to promote economic programs and activities designed to strengthen and expand the income potential within Walker County ;
• to promote programs and activities of a civic , social and cultural nature which are designed to increase the functional and aesthetic values of the community ;
• to encourage high ethical standards in all business and professional activities ;
• to speak for the Chamber ’ s members in city , county , state and national legislative and governmental matters while maintaining a non-partisan and non-sectarian philosophy and approach .

Visibility of Your Business – Chamber membership includes a listing in this print magazine as well as a page on the chamber ’ s website . Weekly E-Newsletter — The chamber produces a weekly email highlighting upcoming events as well as a monthly newsletter featuring the member of the month , ambassador visits , and ribbon cuttings . Online Community Calendar — Anyone in the community can submit an event to our online calendar of events as well as register for many chamber events . Professional Education & Development — The chamber hosts seminars in partnership with the Small Business Development Center with topics ranging from HUB Certification and Customer Service to Verbal Akido . Member Orientation — Quarterly orientations are held that focus on identifying and utilizing member benefits and the member portal to Chamber Master . New Member Showcase — Held annually in July featuring members that have joined in the past year . Meeting Room Rental — The chamber ’ s conference room is available to rent with special rates for members .
