FROM THE GREENS

Chris Doyle
The autumn season welcomes us with cooler air , shorter days / longer nights and trees blooming with fall colors . Our course is at its peak condition both playable wise and photographic wise . Greens aerification has been completed and we ’ ll start fairway aerification and verticutting of the fairways to produce healthy fairway turf .
Phase 2 of the Cart Path renovation will take place later in October / November . The irrigation system will be blown-out and shut down for the winter , allowing us to do repairs on the irrigation pump .
We ’ ll start on projects that will include edging bunkers , seeding thin areas of the roughs and cleaning up of dead trees , limbs and unwanted high grasses . Please be advised that these extensive course maintenance projects will close the course on the following dates : 10 / 16 , 10 / 23 , 10 / 30 , 11 / 6 , and 11 / 13 .
The fall is the time to ‘ put the course to bed ’ in preparation for winter . It ’ s also a perfect time to bring in the equipment for winterization and identify repairs / replacements for 2024 .
