MESSAGE FROM HULT
WELCOME
Many thanks to all of you who made it to
the alumni summit in London this year, it
was fantastic to see so many of you there
and to have the chance to meet you in
person. The event brought home to me the
importance of gathering together in person
in today’s digital world—nothing quite
beats catching up with old friends or new
acquaintances over dinner and drinks. It
was also fantastic to hear that the summit
embodied Hult’s belief in hands-on and lifelong learning with inspiring, dynamic workshops from both Hult faculty and local figures.
I hope that the learnings and fun memories stay with you over the
coming year.
By now, you will have also heard about Hult’s new strategic
alliance with Ashridge Business School. It’s an exciting development that we think will create one of the world’s greatest business
schools by bringing together Ashridge’s expertise in research and
executive education with Hult’s global reach and scale in degree
programs. As the paperwork is finalized I’ll be writing to you
with more details. In the meantime, I’m happy to share what this
alliance means in this issue.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the Class
of 2014 to the alumni network. We hope this issue gives you an
insight into all that the Alumni Association has to offer you, in terms
of benefits, community, and, of course, fun. I firmly believe that the
association is as strong as the alumni itself, so would encourage
you to get involved and take full advantage of your Hult network
and post-graduation benefits.
I was delighted to join the alumni summit in
London and hear of the many adventures
and achievements of our alumni since
leaving Hult. Watching old friendships
rekindling, new connections being formed,
and even some new business ventures
being dreamt up was a wonderful reminder
of the creativity, drive, and international
spirit of the Hult community. Attendees
appreciated the various professional and
social events across the weekend, but by far the most cited insight
was the power of the professional and social network. I encourage
each of you to join the next alumni summit and local alumni events,
and deepen your engagement with the Hult network.
It was my first time attending the Alumni
Summit this year, and hosting it in the
fabulous city of London was an absolute
bonus—even the weather smiled on us!
The energy at this year’s event was fantastic—a packed agenda, influential and interesting keynote speakers, and a grand gala
dinner to round the event off made for an
ideal reminder to alums of why they chose
Hult to begin with. Looking around, it was
great to see many alums I knew and many I didn’t, enthusiastically
networking—alums had travelled from far-flung destinations to
reconnect with fellow classmates and make new contacts, as well
as to see and hear how much Hult has moved forward. I eagerly
await next year’s summit, and look forward to seeing you there.
