Hult Gains Apple’s Distinguished School Status
We are delighted to announce that Hult has received a second Apple
accolade in recognition of its pioneering deployment of iPads in the
classroom. In addition to being named an Apple Standout School in
2012, Hult has now received the status of Apple Distinguished School.
This accolade recognizes a select group of higher education institutions
that embrace the latest technology to create exemplary, innovative learning environments and visionary leadership.
As the first business school to deploy iPads globally, Hult has continued to develop innovative ways of integrating the iPad into its curriculum
and classroom. For the school it is not just about giving students an
iPad but about helping them use it effectively to enhance their learning
experience.
Some of the new iPad features developed at Hult include an instant
polling app for real-time feedback in classes and, even more excitingly
for former students, the new alumni app that allows members to instantly
locate and connect with other alumni across the globe.
This is just the beginning though according to Hult’s Chief Information Officer, Yousuf Khan, who promises “to continue to develop better
productivity apps that will support our students and prepare them for an
increasingly global economy.” Watch this space!
Hult SF Heads to the Hult Prize Accelerator
March 2nd, 2013 saw the candidates for the 2013 Hult Prize, narrowed
down to just five teams in the regional finals of the Hult Prize. Out of a
total of 10,000 applications, 255 student teams from universities and
colleges across the world gathered at Hult’s five campuses to present
their groundbreaking solutions to the global food crisis. A panel of distinguished judges at each campus selected a winning social venture which
will progress to the Hult Accelerator stage of the contest in June.
We are proud to announce that Hult will also be represented at the
Global Finals, with the Hult San Francisco team being selected for its
innovative active saving method, “Pulse”. Their coach Professor Mike
Grandinetti said the team showed “cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural
collaboration of the highest order. These five exemplary, socially-conscious student leaders came together as a high performing team,
investing a massive amount of time and energy into eventually coming up
with an elegantly simple solution to an extremely complex problem. The
judges clearly agreed!”
The San Francisco team along with the other winning teams from
McGill University, University of Cape Town, ESADE Business School,
and the Asian Institute of Management, plus one online winning team
will now head to the Hult Accelerator, a world-class center for innovation
in Boston, where they will receive mentoring and advice on how to take
their solutions to the next level. The teams will then head to New York
to pitch their solution at the annual Clinton Global Initiative Meeting on
September 22nd and the winning team will be awarded USD1 million to
