What motivates you to lead your Chapter?
My biggest motivation is my team— Natalia Toyos, Dorothy Kaniuk, and Paulo Oliveira. I know I would never be able to rank NYC as one of the three topperforming Chapters without them. They all put in so much hard work and have endless enthusiasm.
What events and initiatives have you implemented to become a top-performing Chapter?
In New York, we have a very hands-on approach. We do monthly meetups, recruitment and career counseling sessions, workshops for current students, and host thought leadership events. This year, we’ ve also piloted mentoring students for an action project.
What is the most unique thing about your Chapter community?
What are your biggest challenges?
It can be hard to nurture and strengthen relationships between Chapter members and the
Best Chapter moment? school when we don’ t have a local campus, but we manage. Myself and a couple of other leaders have done lots of work on connecting chapters too. We’ ve made some progress, but there’ s still a gap that needs closing.
I’ m a big fan of our community. Cultural diversity, varied business backgrounds, and entrepreneurial spirit— you can find it all here. Living in NYC, there are so many top alumni communities, but Hult’ s diversity is unique. Our people have a very different way of looking at things.
We recently hosted Worldwide Alumni Day, and it reminded me that bringing people together to talk about business while having fun is worth every minute I spend organizing. The relationships and friendships that grow out of events such as these are definitely what keep me going.
