Hult’ s Boston-bound Bachelor of Business Administration students will join the prestigious line of students who have flocked to Boston for higher education. Founded in 1630, Boston has long been the academic hub of the United States. Harvard University was founded by the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636, making it the first and oldest university in America. Since then, Boston has blossomed into a dynamic city for intellectuals. Independent thinkers such as transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson and naturalist Henry David Thoreau have been among Boston’ s most famous residents, as have the likes of literary superstars Louisa May Alcott, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Today, Boston remains America’ s premier academic city with over 50 institutions of higher learning. Every fall, 250,000 students pour into the Boston area and keep true to Boston’ s tradition as a vibrant college city.
Boston is not only America’ s academic city, it is also a financial and technological hub. Just this year, the U. S. Chamber of Commerce released a report that ranked Boston as the # 1 city in the United States for fostering entrepreneurial growth and innovation. Boston leads the way in the healthcare, management consultancy, finance, and venture capital industries. Financial giants such as Bain & Company, BCG, Fidelity, and State Street Bank are based here. A thriving startup culture has lured in the likes of TripAdvisor, Facebook, Dropbox, HubSpot and Zipcar, providing no shortage of potential internship and job opportunities for students.
Hult can also trace its roots back to Boston. In 1964, Arthur D. Little founded the Arthur D. Little School of Management in Boston. The institute offered a one-year Master degree program to train business leaders. In 2003, the school was renamed Hult International Business School, honoring benefactor Bertil Hult’ s vision and commitment to educating international business leaders. Since then, Hult has undergone rapid change to offer cutting-edge undergraduate, Master, and MBA programs, and campuses have opened in Dubai, London, San Francisco, and Shanghai. Currently, Boston remains the biggest Hult campus, welcoming almost 800 postgraduate students across all courses.
