The new age martial art films were a lot more complicated when it came to the choreography of the fights. Not to knock the older martial art films but this one seemed like a lot more input from both sides. Compared to some of the older Jackie films where he would try to defend and then take you down without really throwing a punch. They also created a wonderful fight between Kenji the karate master and a Japanese kendo expert, the fight was filmed and produced wonderfully, and also on a moving truck no less. Well, I doubt it was an actually filmed inside a moving semi, but it did look very convincing which deserves praise in itself.

One of the other things that kind of jumped out at me was the special effect the movie used. Other that the rotating camera the other major special effect that was relatively easy to see was the gunshots in the film. Now most movies whenever they use guns and they want to make it realistic they use blanks. They shoot just like real ammo and are a lot safer. In the movie, they decided to use special effects to make the gun shots look flashy. I can not tell whether they used blanks also and just added more effects to make or pronounced, but I think either they couldn't get all the blanks they needed because of their budget or for some reason they actually wanted it to be extremely flashy. Not that it made it a bad effect, but I do think it made it a bit excessive to use it for every gunshot. I do think that in some cases the effects used on the gunshots could very well help make a point or help a scene pop out at the audience, but using it for every gunshot in every scene just makes it very tedious.

Overall my analysis of the film I would say is pretty good. The reason why I tend to have focused on some negative aspects of production was because I think if these issues where address this film would be top quality, at least production wise. The story on the other hand while unique it still feels a bit pushed together, especially when the sadistic stream cult came into play. I know we're not supposed to write like a critic but as far as the production of the movie goes I would give it a 7.5 out of 10.
