LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Under Fire N THIS WEEK’S issue, Radley Balko looks at how an unprecedented police reform movement got its start in one of America’s most conservative states: Utah. Radley takes us back to Jan. 4, 2011, when Army veteran Matthew David Stewart’s home in ART STREIBER I Ogden — where he grew marijuana — was raided by 12 police officers in the middle of the night. Stewart exchanged fire with the police for about 20 minutes. By the end of the battle, one cop was dead, and according to various accounts, between 130 and 250 bullets had been fired.
