The House of Representatives passed the bill 61-54 and the Senate followed suit, passing it 32-29 and sending it to Gov. Pat Quinn, who has said he will sign it into law. The bill had faced months of delay in May after House members asked for more time to consider it. It is set to go into effect on June 1. The company had set an initial public offering price of $26 on Wednesday night, which gave Twitter a market value of more than $18 billion. All eyes were on the company to see if it would suffer the same fate as Facebook, which faced technical problems after it went public last May. ‘DEGENERATE ART’ UNCOVERED Authorities revealed Tuesday that investigators have found more than 1,400 pieces of artwork in a German apartment, some of which are believed to have been confiscated by the Nazis and classified as “degenerate art.” The works include ones by the famed Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso and Auguste Renoir. “When you stand in front of the works … you have an incredible feeling of happiness,” said Meike Hoffmann, an art expert who has been helping the investigation.
