Enter 5 POINTERS ARIZONA VOTING LAW STRUCK DOWN In a 7-2 vote on Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that Arizona can’t require people to prove they’re U.S. citizens before registering for federal elections. Arizona and other states would first need federal or court permission before changing the requirements. Federal law “precludes Arizona from requiring a federal form applicant to submit information beyond that required by the form itself,” Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in the majority opinion.
