WHY: He is debuting his first solo exhibition at a U.S. museum this year. The eponymous show begins on May 26, 2013 and runs until April 7, 2014 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. PEDRO REYES WHO: Mexican artist Pedro Reyes, a multimedia creative whose works, ranging from sculpture and architecture to ART performance and video, highlight the importance of individual and collective participation in social and cultural events. WHY: We listed him as one of the hottest artists of Art Basel Miami Beach, and we’re eager to see what will follow his work there. DARA FRIEDMAN WHO: Dara Friedman, a German artist who focuses on ideas of performance and individuality in the urban, public space through video installations and film.
