Rainbow Family
Each July for the past 40 years, people from all walks of life have
formed temporary communities called Rainbow Gatherings in
America’s national forests. Based on values of non-commercialism,
non-violence, peace and love, these are leaderless campsites where
money isn’t exchanged and “Welcome home” and “Loving you”
are common greetings. The following photos are from a Rainbow
Gathering this year in Eastern Tennessee. Participants remained
anonymous out of respect for the group’s traditions.
