About us Our School Our Community Our Awards & Achievements Since 2001 we have taught more than 2000 children and adults, aged between 12 months and 90 years, to speak and write Mandarin Chinese. We are a vibrant and diverse community. We have bright and well-motivated students, taught by highly qualified, committed staff, in partnership with parents. We try to provide every student with cultural, spiritual resources. We are an Ofsted registered and accredited school providing high quality courses for our students. We run a wide range of Mandarin Chinese courses, from toddler through to GCSE, A Level and classes for adults. We are based in the following London locations: Golders Green, Hampstead and Mill Hill. We run tailor-made 1:1 individual learning, after school clubs in primary and secondary schools, cultural workshops for local councils and schools, and also design corporate training to suit specific needs of each company. 4 We have a team of 14 dedicated and highly skilled teachers who speak Mandarin as a first language. We have create a well-organised environment in which everyone can work comfortably and has clear expectations of behaviour that fosters good relationships and supports learning. Our students have obtained excellent result from their Chinese GCSE and A- Level Exams, we have had a 100% success rate with our students maintaining A* grades in the past few years. We achieved the Gold Award from the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education in 2013 and the Bronze Award in 2009. This honour confirms that Hua Hsia Chinese School has well-established systems in place to ensure consistent good quality practices. We are a registered Asset Languages Centre. This ensures that our qualifications are accredited and our students’ achievements are recognised. In 2012, Hua Hsia Chinese School was selected by the BBC to film ‘British Tiger Mum’; which has led to a huge debate in the cultural differences between Chinese and Western education. email: [email protected]
