NEXT UP AT KEYS PARK...
Next to travel to Keys Park in the Skrill North:
Workington
Next up at Keys Park- Workington AFC
which saw them beat Oxford City 1-0.
Following the visit this afternoon of
Gainsborough in the Skrill North, The Pitmen’s
next visitors to Keys Park, on 8th March, are
Workington AFC.
This is the second time Workington have
visited Keys Park after they came for the FA
Trophy earlier this season, when goals from
Wayne Riley, Francino Francis and Elliott
Durrell put the Pitmen into the next round.
Led by manager Paul Harrison, the Reds last
season finished 14th in the Blue Square North,
comfortably in mid-table.
The Reds have been in the Skrill North since
2005 after winning promotion via the play-offs
in the Northern Premier League when they beat
Farsley Celtic 6-5 on penalties after a 0-0
draw.
Workington had finished top of the league with
Spennymoor folding. In the appeal (which was
held the day after the final day of the season)
Hyde were re-awarded the three points they
picked up from a win over Spennymoor which
put them in pole position and Workington
dropped into 2nd place, But they were able to
join Hyde in the Conference North via the playoffs.
This season, Workington haven’t shown the
best of form as they currently sit 22nd in the
Skrill North, despite their game in midweek

The key man for Workington will be on-loan
goalkeeper Daniel Nizic, who has joined the
Cumbrian club from Burnley. The Australian
goalkeeper is only 18, but, he and fellow
Burnley loanee Kyle Brownhill, have been
tasked with stopping Workington slipping
back into the Northern Premier League.
