NEXT UP AT KEYS PARK... Next to travel to Keys Park in the Skrill North: Workington Next up at Keys Park- Workington AFC which saw them beat Oxford City 1-0. Following the visit this afternoon of Gainsborough in the Skrill North, The Pitmen’s next visitors to Keys Park, on 8th March, are Workington AFC. This is the second time Workington have visited Keys Park after they came for the FA Trophy earlier this season, when goals from Wayne Riley, Francino Francis and Elliott Durrell put the Pitmen into the next round. Led by manager Paul Harrison, the Reds last season finished 14th in the Blue Square North, comfortably in mid-table. The Reds have been in the Skrill North since 2005 after winning promotion via the play-offs in the Northern Premier League when they beat Farsley Celtic 6-5 on penalties after a 0-0 draw. Workington had finished top of the league with Spennymoor folding. In the appeal (which was held the day after the final day of the season) Hyde were re-awarded the three points they picked up from a win over Spennymoor which put them in pole position and Workington dropped into 2nd place, But they were able to join Hyde in the Conference North via the playoffs. This season, Workington haven’t shown the best of form as they currently sit 22nd in the Skrill North, despite their game in midweek 42 thePitmen The key man for Workington will be on-loan goalkeeper Daniel Nizic, who has joined the Cumbrian club from Burnley. The Australian goalkeeper is only 18, but, he and fellow Burnley loanee Kyle Brownhill, have been tasked with stopping Workington slipping back into the Northern Premier League.
