WITH DARREN PLANT
A couple of months ago, I wrote about a
select minority of supporters being quick to
jump on the back of the players if they
weren't on top form, but that quickly
disappeared once we put together a string
of wins. However, after three matches
without a victory, the same attitude returned
against Histon.
My question is, “why?” I probably sound like
a broken record, but with the club's current
position in the league table and with some
of the circumstances that have affected the
club since the turn of the year, no-one
should even be considering criticising
anyone in our squad. Rob, Larry, Chris and
the players are fighting hard to earn a topfive position for the club at the end of the
season, and the respect should be there
from the supporters to back them
wholeheartedly, not lambast individuals if
they mis-control a ball or misplace a pass.
Too many people believe that paying your
entry fee entitles you to an opinion. Begin to
believe that your actions in the stands can
influence the direction of this club and
negativity off the pitch isn't going to bring

Our performance against Birmingham City
on Tuesday night was by no means perfect,
but it was one that displayed the desire to
put things right from losing heavily to
Boston United at the weekend. We
shouldn't feel too disheartened with
conceding three goals, because two of
them were unstoppable, while we frequently
looked industrious going forward. It was
pleasing to see Paul Sullivan net his first
couple of goals for the club, with his second
showing that despite an indifferent start
since joining from Chasetown, he has the
confidence and composure to succeed at
this club.
We welcome Gainsborough Trinity to Keys
Park this afternoon as we look to get things
back on track in the league. Losing three
out of our last four fixtures hasn't been
ideal, but a win would go a considerable
way to making amends for the points lost in
February. Four of our play-off rivals play
each other this afternoon, so with points
sure to be dropped around us, it's up to us
to capitalise and ensure our position looks
slightly more secure come 5pm. Trinity have
been inconsistent since the turn of the year,
but like anyone in ѡ
