NEXT UP AT KEYS PARK... Next to travel to Keys Park in the Skrill North: Gainsborough Trinity Following the visit this afternoon of Histon in the Skrill North, The Pitmen’s next visitors to Keys Park on 8th March are Gainsborough Trinity. Led by manager Steve Housham, Trinity last season finished 8th in the Blue Square North, 9 points behind 5th placed Halifax. The Holy Blues, as they are also known, have been in the Conference North since 2004 when the league was formed, having moved up from Northern Premier League. Hednesford need to be wary of Bradley Barraclough. The former Lincoln striker joined the club in January last year. This season he has scored 9 goals in 20 appearances for The Northolme based club. This season, Gainsborough sat 17th in the Skrill North before Tuesday night’s games. This is the first time since 2006 that these two sides have met. The last time came on 28th January of that year, and finished 1-1 in the Conference North. Richard Teesdale got the Pitmen’s equaliser after Trinity took an early lead. In the reverse fixture in Lincolnshire the game also finished in a 1-1 draw on 27th August 2005, Lee Barrow scored Hednesford’s equaliser from the spot with 6 minutes to go. The only other time Hednesford have played Gainsborough was in the FA Trophy first round in 1998 with the Pitmen winning 2-1 at home. 42 thePitmen Richard Scott tweet @nonleaguerich thePitmen We’re keen to get your thoughts on this season’s match programme, so feel free to email [email protected] to pass on ideas and feedback.
