PITMEN YOUTH TEAM
Last week we played our first home game of the season against Ellesmere Rangers, losing 1 – 2. Having drawn with our previous game away at stronglyfancied Newcastle Town, we were hoping to build on that result, but how wrong we were. The best word I can think of to describe our first half performance was rubbish with a capital R! Within the first five minutes we had three players trip over the ball. Our touches were awful, our passing (which we work on a lot) was shocking and nowhere near good enough for what is required for a Hednesford Town youth team. The players were told at half time that the first-half performance was not acceptable. The manner in which we conceded their two goals was very disappointing, with both coming from corners. Again, this is something that we work on. The second half was an improvement, with us upping our game and for about 20 minutes we played some decent football, scoring a goal from Steffan Walker who finished off a good move by our midfield players.
