The business was going well, so NBC donated the money and secured the equipment. “We wrote the cheque and thought, if it saves a life, for what it is worth, it’s a good deed. You think no more of it,” Jag explained. He continued: “Two weeks later, we received a phone call from the council asking if we could attend a meeting. My Father and I attended and a gentleman came up to us and explained that the previous Saturday, it had been his Granddaughter’s 6th birthday. He had rushed to buy a present, and on his way home whilst walking through the town, he’d had a heart attack. “He said, ‘If it wasn’t for your defibrillators, I wouldn’t have made her birthday’. He had tears of joy and said ‘thank you for keeping me alive’. I mean, it’s a lot of money but what is it worth when you can save a life? That is priceless.” “We’ve spoken with several clients about health, safety and environment, but a topic that we’re currently focusing on is wellbeing and occupational health. What exactly is the cost of a life? Cost is nothing when you can save a life.
