Q Tell us about your history and capabilities as the
UK’s leading tools, equipment and plant hire services
company.
“Speedy was founded by John Brown in Wigan, the
North-West town, back in 1977. Brown formed Livesey
Hire, and in 1982, went on to purchase Speedy Fixings
Power Tools Ltd. In 1987, the first Speedy depot opened
in London, and after a series of acquisitions, Speedy
eventually bought Hewden’s Tool Hire assets.
“Employing around 3,200 staff, Speedy is the largest hire
provider in the UK, boasting an unrivalled range of tools,
plant and specialist equipment. Over 2,800 products are
included in our hire range, while we also provide specialist
solutions that support our customers to complete their
projects in the most effective, efficient and safe way.
