June 2017 is
month!
T
hroughout June we’re asking you to ‘Put the Kettle
on’ to raise funds for our fantastic Tea for Tinnitus
campaign. In 2016, our very first Tea for Tinnitus,
you raised over £6,000 which was absolutely amazing! But
we’d like to be able to help even more people through your
efforts and this year’s target is £15,000. We really hope you
will support us and help us even go beyond that.
If 200 of you each hold a party that raises just £75,
the target would be reached. But remember, all amounts
raised, no matter how small, are important in helping
people with tinnitus. By putting the kettle on for tinnitus
you will help someone who might be struggling with their
tinnitus to access support through our helpline and email
support, attend an event like our free to attend information
days, have access to information leaflets and so much
more.
Having a tea party is a really simple way to get
people talking about tinnitus and socialising in a relaxed
atmosphere, as well as raising funds to help others. When
you request our amazing fundraising pack we’ll send
you some top tinnitus talking points and some simple
fundraising ideas. We also have a nice big poster to help
publicise your event, template bunting to put up, a money
box to collect all your donations and some super stickers.
In line with your requests from last year, most items
are also now downloadable from www.teafortinnitus.
co.uk/downloads , but can also be ordered by contacting
us.
It’s really easy to get involved and sign up - just go to
www.teafortinnitus.co.uk, email [email protected] or
call 0114 250 9933 and we can send you one of our lovely
fundraising packs. You can also register your event on the
Tea for Tinnitus website, or again, call the office and let
us know where and when it will be happening, and we’ll
promote as many as we can.
Your party can be as simple or as complex as you want
to make it. A tea party for friends and family, a teddy bears
picnic with your children, a tea and cake day at work or an
event at a local venue. Why not come up with something
really unusual? The possibilities are endless.
When you hold your party, please upload a photo or
short video to social media using the #T4Tinnitus hashtag
and tag us in using @BritishTinnitus on Twitter, so we
can share your images! It’s great to see what’s going on.
And if you don’t use social media, that’s fine. Send us a
photograph after the event and we can highlight it in Quiet
magazine or on our website.
The whole BTA team are very excited about an even
bigger Tea for Tinnitus and we've been sharing their recipes
and bake photos on the Tea for Tinnitus website. Maybe
you could give the recipes a try… we’d love to see your
photos!
If you have any questions or need any help, please don’t
hesitate to get in touch.
We can’t make this a success without your help – so we
look forward to hearing from you and thank you so much
for your support.
