urrently operating in the UK,
Supertouch sells a complete
range of PPE and Workwear, from
high-vis to flame-retardant clothing across a number of industries including
construction, pharmaceuticals, rail and
manufacturing.
To mark its 20th year of operation,
Supertouch has relocated its head office,
including the sales department and
distribution centre, to new premises
in the West Midlands. Originally based
in Brentwood, Essex, the move was a
strategic decision in order to support the
continued growth and expansion of the
business.
The National Distribution Centre (NDC), located in
Rabone Park, Smethwick, has more than 60,000 sq ft. of
distribution space and employs over 75 members of staff.
At the end of 2016, the business will also begin serving
the Middle-East, exhibiting at Intersec Dubai in January
2017.
Sangeeta Aeri, Technical Manager at Supertouch,
comes from a clothing background and has been in the
industry for 20 years. She joined Supertouch in 2010 and is
responsible for product compliance, driving innovation and
quality standards in order to bring new products to market.
Sangeeta does all of this, while supporting and delivering
agreed target KPI’s in-line with company strategy.
“I manage the technical development of products
from concept through to product approval, competitor
benchmarking and sales feedback. I also
track new legislation, and develop and
evaluate when to bring products to the
market. I oversee the technical capability
of the supply base and am accountable
for ensuring product quality at all times.
“At Supertouch, we offer a wide variety
of safety equipment for the market from protective gloves, footwear and
disposables to hi-visibility jackets, body
warmers and flame-retardant coveralls.
“With so many products to choose from,
perhaps the best product to begin with
is our Hi Vis 4 in 1 parka – the perfect
solution for the cold winter months.
Ideally suited for outdoor professions, the 4 in 1 parka
allows the user to mix and match the layers depending
on the environment and temperature. Users can choose
between the hi-vis reversible body warmer and an outer
jacket that can either be worn alone or in combination with
the body warmer. There is also the option to include hi-vis
t-shirts too; this is an important layer when you consider it
is the closest to your skin - a comfortable base can enhance
performance.”
Moving to the food processing sector, this year,
Supertouch launched its non-woven coat with Velcro
fastening collar and elasticated cuffs.
“This coat provides extra barrier protection for people
working in areas where minimising contaminates is of
maximum importance. The coats are made from nonwoven polypropylene and are manufactured to comply
