MANUFACTURING FOR SAFETY Established in 1964, JSP is Europe’s leading independent manufacturer of industrial head protection and above the neck Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). W ith a strong commitment to safety innovation, JSP is backed by an in–house Research & Development team with manufacturing and testing bases in Oxford, England. Every JSP product conforms to appropriate British, European, American and International performance specifications, and testing is conducted in an extensive BS EN IS0 9001 registered test laboratory. JSP’s products are manufactured under its worldwide QMS (Quality Management System) that ensures proper batch control (testing and recording of each manufactured batch) and includes full technical backup and support. Exporting to over 100 countries, JSP adapts to modern and multi-national end-users. An estimated 40 million people worldwide use JSP products daily, at home and at work. The company’s above the neck PPE can be made to measure using corporate logos and colour schemes on safety helmets, hearing protection and safety eyewear. JSP was the first ever company to be awarded the BSI Kitemark™ Certification for respiratory protective products across a number of different product standards. Kitemark™ is one of the most recognised global symbols of quality, integrity and safety, and demonstrates beyond doubt that JSP’s PPE meets the required standards. Kitemark™ Certification also has been granted for JSP’s range of head protection products, and more recently, for its new range of ear defenders. This year, JSP received a Gold Award from the Supply Chain Sustainability School - a virtual learning environment that aims to help construction suppliers and subcontractors develop their sustainability knowledge and competence. The company achieved this award through significant investment, including solar PV installation in 2014. On average, one in three JSP safety helmets are made by the sun, and on a very sunny day, 100% of its safety helmets can be manufactured using renewable energy. To ensure a safer, more sustainable future, JSP adopts a no-waste policy on site and is continually improving the methodologies used during manufacturing processes. HEAD PROTECTION The distinctive front shape of JSP’s core range of helmets is universally recognised as a Badge of Origin in the PPE industry and a is trusted trade mark; identifiable with quality and reliability. Best-selling models in JSP’s core range include: the EVO® 2 & 3 models; EVOLite® - The World´s Lightest Safety Helmet; Mk8®Evolution® - The World’s Strongest Safety Helmet; and the new EVO® 5 Olympus® - an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) shelled hard hat with Global Standards for Worldwide Protection. HSE INTERNATIONAL 13
