It seems only a few weeks ago that we were at Snetterton in the sunshine to start the 2021 season , as we all emerged from what we hope will be the final COVID lockdown . Now , nearly six months later , the end of the year is approaching and despite all the trials and tribulations of the last few months , it ’ s been a great season of racing for the HSCC .
As well as being the year that we started to emerge from COVID , 2021 will be the final year that we have Alan Jones as our Competitions Secretary and his well-deserved transition into retirement will leave a large gap to be filled .
We have a fine new team member in Jasmine Walker and we welcome her to the HSCC while paying tribute to the fantastic work that Alan has done for the Club . He is an enthusiast , a gentleman and a properly good guy . We will all miss him very much as he heads into what we hope will be a slightly easier life under the direction of Lynn , no doubt with a long list of jobs to be done around the house !
We will acknowledge Alan ’ s contribution to the HSCC more fully in the next edition . In the meantime , we say thank you for all that he has done for the Club over 16 years of dedicated service and we sincerely hope that we will continue to see him around at motor sport events in the coming years .
