New Club historian role

Duncan Rabagliati has taken on a new role for the Club as HSCC Historian . The man behind Formula Junior needs little introduction and is uniquely qualified for this important role . With unrivalled personal archives , largely on singleseaters and sports-racers , and an encyclopaedic knowledge of the sport , Duncan will gradually widen his remit to the great benefit of the HSCC , becoming a source of knowledge and information .
His own archive already includes 25,000 race programmes , covering most UK race meetings through to 1980 . Aside from his pivotal role within Formula Junior , which he has held for 30 years , he has also been the historian for the 500 Owners Association for the last 20 years .
The board and committee warmly welcome him to the role and thank him for his on-going support of the HSCC .

Sirrell on four wheels

Former motorbike racer Rob Sirrell made his car racing debut in Historic Formula Ford 2000 at Snetterton in a Reynard SF78 he plans to share with his son Oliver .
Rob started racing bikes in 1983 and also raced sidecars as he progressed to F1 road racing , mainly in Belgium .
“ After a 15-year gap I decided to make my comeback but then after breaking my hip I couldn ’ t get on the bike any longer so I decided to go car racing ,” he said .
His son Oliver previously raced an ex-Dan Wheldon Van Diemen in Formula 4 and then moved to Formula Renault until the money ran out . Oliver should also get the chance to race the Reynard this season .

Caine makes F2 debut

After four years of work , Jeremy Caine was able to debut his Formula 2 March 712 at Donington Park in April as he stepped up from Historic Formula Ford 2000 . Caine ’ s car was in storage for nearly over 40 years until he acquired it four years ago . It was last raced as a Formula Atlantic by Howard Rose in 1973 and then put away in Rose ’ s garage in Surrey . Caine heard about it and finally managed to buy the car four years ago and has worked ever since to rebuild and restore it to full Formula 2 specification with a 1600 BDA engine .
In its early life , the car was sold by Frank Williams and was once owned by Richard Longman , though the Mini ace never raced it . Caine is another addition to the evergrowing Historic Formula 2 field .
