HSCC : AUGUST 2021 ISSUE

These are busy times ! As I write this , the Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix is a few days away and we have recently had major race meetings at Cadwell Park and Donington Park .

A year ago we were about to nervously start the 2020 racing season and now we are in full flight with half of the Club ’ s major race meetings successfully completed . After Brands we have the likely scenario of race meetings free from COVID restrictions .
Our Donington weekend was a great advert for HSCC racing . Big grids , tremendous racing , no serious incidents and slick organisation all came together to deliver two fine days of historic racing and the paddock atmosphere was open and friendly . Those who went wheel-to-wheel on track congratulated each other when back in the paddock and that ’ s surely the best way to go racing .
After Brands , those not involved in The Classic , Silverstone have a mid-season break which I ’ m sure will be very welcome before we reconvene at Oulton Park for the Gold Cup and then to Mallory Park and Silverstone . If you are able to go away this summer , I hope you have a good break , wherever it might be . Paul Lawrence
