Jackson hits 50

Cam Jackson
Prolific historic single-seater racer Cam Jackson completed a remarkable run of 50 consecutive finishes in Historic Formula Ford during the Cadwell Park meeting , having finished every race he had started across five years . As well as winning the overall HFF title in 2018 and 2019 , Jackson had been on the podium 47 times in 50 races and won 30 races . In the other three races , he finished off the podium .
Jackson credited the remarkable sequence to the Neil Fowler team , which tends his cars . Across the last five seasons he has raced his regular Winkelmann , a Lola T200 and a March 709 .
“ It ’ s a massive credit to Neil and the team ,” said Jackson after his latest win at Cadwell Park . “ It is remarkable and they work really hard . The cars have never stopped during testing , qualifying or racing and must have done thousands of laps . It ’ s been an amazing run and I felt a big relief when I crossed the line in the second race at Cadwell to make the 50 .
“ It went to the 50th anniversary Formula Ford race at Brands Hatch in
July 2017 ,” said the Lincoln racer , who has also won in Classic Formula Ford , Formula Junior and in a Crossle sportsracing car at Goodwood . To mark the achievement , he presented champagne to Fowler and the team at Cadwell Park .
Just to prove that things don ’ t always go to plan , the following event at Donington Park brought the run to an end when a gear linkage issue stopped the Winkelmann , possibly the result of an inadvertent bump with Tom McArthur the day before . However , two more wins and a second was still not a bad tally for the Donington weekend .
