Thundersports
As we move into 2021 we all hope that the troubles of COVID can be put behind us and we can get back to have some better track time . I have had a number of new enquires from people wanting to come and join the Thundersports series , most have been based around 2-litre sports prototypes but we have also had other interest in the GT section and Can-Am cars so this season and going forward is looking positive with growing grids .
Once again we have been given a slot at the Silverstone Classic event in July and I hope we can continue with a strong grid but without the rain ! The last bits of the calendar are currently being agreed and should be available by the time this is published . Once again we are very grateful to have the support of the sports 2000 cars motivated by Jonathan Loader and Bruce Chambers , we also have some plans for the series which we are looking at developing this year so watch this space .

2020 marked 50 years since the end of the screamer era and unfortunately COVID put a stop to all of our celebration plans . So , for 2021 our main hope is to be able to get everybody back out racing for a full championship and be able to put our plans back in place this year instead . Although the 2020 championship was short , we had some absolutely fantastic racing and it went down to the wire with some intense battles at the final race meeting , throughout the grid . Hopefully , with more cars out in 2021 , the championship will be even closer .

Despite the challenges and disappointments of 2020 , there is a great sense of optimism for the future amongst the Historic FF2000 community . We look set to welcome a number of new drivers this year and renew friendships with some others returning to the series .
Paul Allen has bought the Grant family Delta and Jason Redding has acquired the ex-Pat Blakeney version . Jonathan Rose has bought the ex-Paul Allen Reynard to complement his Elan and several other cars are on the verge of changing hands .
Our big hope is that things can return to normal in the paddocks and that our
ever-popular race meeting parties can resume !

For me , the main thing is to meet up with old racing friends and new . Sadly , it will be at a two-metre distance , unless it is John Davison in his mighty Elan when it will be much closer than that .
The HSCC did a superb job in 2020 putting together the races that we were lucky enough to have . It is looking like 2021 will still have some restrictions , but hopefully we will be able to enjoy a more rounded calendar and be able to raise a glass ( after the races naturally ) with some great friends .
In HRS we had some fabulous grids last year , with an average of over 30 cars at every round , we also saw some new faces , who did extremely well and enjoyed it immensely , so I am also looking forward to seeing them back with us in 2021 .
