The year ahead
As we head towards the start of the racing season , subject to any on-going COVID-related restrictions , we thought it was a good moment to showcase the Club ’ s 2021 racing programme .
The following events are those that are ‘ full ’ HSCC race meetings and do not cover events where individual championships or series have ‘ away ’ dates at other race meetings . It also does not cover events like the Silverstone Classic and Walter Hayes Trophy where the HSCC is the race-organising club but the race content is not primarily HSCC-based .
Saturday / Sunday 17 / 18 April : Snetterton 300
The HSCC racing season opens with a two-day race meeting on the 300 circuit at Snetterton in Norfolk , titled the Jim Russell Trophy Meeting . The event will celebrate the life of racer and racing school founder Jim Russell as well as the early years of the Formula Ford Festival at Snetterton ( 1972 to 1975 ).
Single-seater races will include Historic Formula Ford , Classic Formula Ford , Historic Formula Ford 2000 , Classic Formula 3 / URS Classic Formula Ford 2000 and Formula Junior and the guesting Heritage Formula Ford .
Other races on the programme are for Historic Road Sports , 70s Road Sports , Historic Touring Cars , Classic Clubmans and 80s Production Saloons and GT , while a special guest race is a 40-minute optional two-driver race for the new Ecurie Classic Racing movement for pre ’ 66 sports and GT cars .
Saturday / Sunday 22 / 23 May : Silverstone Grand Prix
The International Trophy meeting on the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit is an annual highlight of the HSCC season .
Headline races include the opening 2021 races for Thundersports , Aurora Trophy / Geoff Lees Trophy and the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup .
Other races include Historic Formula Ford , Classic Formula Ford , Classic Formula 3 / URS Classic Formula Ford 2000 , Historic Road Sports , 70s Road Sports and the Guards Trophy .
A special guest race is the 90-minute race for the GT and Sports Car Cup , which will incorporate a celebration of 60 years of the Jaguar E-type .
Saturday / Sunday 5 / 6 June : Cadwell Park
The annual Wolds Trophy meeting at the fabulous Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire moves back to an early summer date for 2021 with a strong line-up of races at the challenging three-dimensional track .
The 1-litre Historic Formula 3 cars will compete for the Justin Haler Trophy , while more excellent single-seater action will be delivered by Historic Formula Ford 2000 , Historic Formula Ford , Classic Formula Ford , URS Classic Formula Ford 2000 and Formula Junior as well as a guest race for Heritage Formula Ford .
Away from single-seaters , Historic Road Sports , 70s Road Sports , Classic Clubmans and 80s Production Cars will pack out the programme .
