The DSCC returns in 2021
Wraps come off
Dunlop Saloon Car Cup
The Club has taken the wraps off the second year of the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup , the race series for touring cars from the 1970s right through to 2006 . The series first ran in 2019 when it drew very encouraging grids but the 2020 season was largely lost to the COVID pandemic . Now , three doubleheader rounds at high-profile dates at premier UK tracks will make up the 2021 schedule .
The series covers three distinct groups of saloon and touring cars : Group 1 , Group A and Super Touring /
S2000 . All three groups will have a dedicated podium after each race and attractive entry fees are an important part of the overall package . The entry fee for a 20-minute qualifying session and two 20-minute races is provisionally set at £ 555 .
Andy Dee-Crowne said : “ We ’ re looking forward to the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup , which will feature great cars , leading tracks , friendly and well-run race meetings and very competitive entry fees . We ’ re keen to hear from anyone with a suitable car , whether they have raced with us before or not . Series chairman Andrew Warner will be talking to all competitors , old , new and prospective , before the season starts .”
The 2021 schedule for the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup is :
22 / 23 May : Silverstone GP 26 / 27 June : Donington Park 28-30 August : Oulton Park

Langridges get a Tecno
A Tecno Formula 2 car raced in period by Martin Birrane will be back on track this season in the hands of Andy Langridge and his son Adrian . The 1968 single-seater has recently been rebuilt by Greg Caton and was once run by the Dorset Racing Associates team . Now the car will be tended by Dan Eagling at Lifetime Racing and driven by both father and son .
For Andy Langridge , the Tecno will allow him to complete a remarkable clean sweep of racing in historic categories . To date , he has raced in FF1600 , FF2000 , 1600cc F3 , 2-litre F3 and Historic F1 . The Formula 2 category is currently missing but will be added this season . Adrian , meanwhile , was Classic F3 champion in 2019 .
“ We have not decided where to run it yet , although I ’ m guessing with the
current situation it will only be in the UK ,” said Andy . “ I think also that Adrian and I will alternate drives . F2 is a gap in my portfolio , so that will be all the UK circuits and all the formula car boxes ticked ,” said Langridge who has now raced on all current UK tracks . To make way for the Tecno , Langridge
The Langridges Tecno has sold the March 803 that Adrian took to the Classic F3 crown . It has gone to Shaun Hollamby as it was originally a Super Vee car raced successfully by his late father Olly .
The Langridges also have a Ginetta B16 sports-racing car nearly ready and plan to run it in Guards Trophy races .
