REGULAR ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
* Must attest before 48 th birthday. Candidates can apply from age 15 years and 9 months but are not to attest before 16th birthday.

The desirable qualifications for this role are GCSEs at Grade C / 4 or above or Scottish National 5 or above at Grade C in English Language and Mathematics. The Scottish National 5 Application of Mathematics( AOM)( Grade A-C). Functional Skills Level 2 in Mathematics and English * or a combination of the above.
* If not already held, Recruits will need to achieve Level 2 in Maths and English Functional Skills( FS) tests at Basic Recruit Training Course( BRTC) at no cost. Completion of the required FS Level 2 tests is a mandatory requirement to be able to proceed to Phase 2 training.

Whether or not you were born in the United Kingdom, you should normally have resided there for the 5 years immediately preceding your application, but candidates with a minimum of 3 years may be considered. If you have resided abroad for a period within this timeframe, dependant on the circumstances you may still be eligible on a case by case basis.
Nationality
You must be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK / other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth( with‘ right to work’ immigration status). Employment restrictions may be imposed within the Specialisation. Non-British nationals applying for this Specialisation are required to certify that they have been advised of the employment limitations and the consequences of not naturalizing as a British citizen.
Selection
You will be assessed on physical fitness and medical eligibility. Additionally, you will also be required to complete the Defence Aptitude Assessment at your local AFCO to a standard appropriate to your choice of specialisation.
