Your Career Prospects
After completing one year’ s total service, providing that you pass the Profession Workplace Assessment, you will be eligible for promotion to Air Specialist( Class 1) AS( 1). Further promotion to the rank of Corporal and beyond is by competitive selection and is based on a formal assessment of your performance and potential. As you advance through the ranks, you will have an increased opportunity to lead, mentor and direct people and to manage RAF resources to optimise RAF delivery. In doing so, you will maintain and instil the highest standards expected within the RAF.
The HR People Specialisation is very broad and as such no two assignments will be the same, global opportunities to serve in a multitude of functional areas will be open to you to apply for.
Ongoing Development
As your career progresses, there will be opportunities to undertake further specialist training, including management and leadership courses, the majority of which will lead to various forms of accreditation with external professional bodies such as the Institute of Leadership and Management and City and Guilds.
There are also opportunities to study at higher education through degree programmes and gain an accreditation with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development( CIPD) through experience assessments using your career experience and knowledge. Funded opportunities exist to both gain CIPD accreditation and progress through the membership levels throughout your career.
The HR People Specialist Specialisation, holds ' People Development Partnership Status in recognition of the level and delivery scale of HR services and related functions and moreover, the continuous investment in professional training and development on offer to People Specialists.
Additional Qualification Opportunities
You can study for a Foundation Degree in Human Resource Management with Staffordshire University, gaining a Level 4 on completion, with further opportunity to increase to Level 5.
