I was unsuccessful and each droplet had evaporated into
nothing. I grabbed a new syringe and pierced my neck.
It was the only place left. The ice running through my
veins left my neck numb, the pain like an electric current,
using my body as a race track. My neck tightened and my
throat felt trapped. A ghastly sensation filled my mind and
I could hear the sounds of metal churning. I raced to the
mirror and saw that my neck was enclosed with gold. The
shot had worked again, I felt like a new man. I was bigger
and stronger but I wanted more. My hands clamped the
container. It wasn’t so heavy anymore. I looked inside and
saw that I had two shots left. I could handle that; I was the
man and no one was going to stop me.
I grabbed the remaining two syringes and into
my bloodstream they went. The now pleasant sensation
forced me into a deep sleep, I had passed out again.
Awoken by thoughts in my head, it was not my voice, it
was grotesque. My fight against gravity was not like before.
This one was quicker and I got onto my feet. Anxious to
see the new changes I pounced my way to the mirror. I did
not recognize what I saw. One arm was missing, and my
neck was half gone.
