4 WAYS MEGATRENDS HAVE HELPED TRANSFORM HP At HP, we use megatrends to inform and help drive our broader understanding of macro trends, including technology and non-technology trends. We utilize HP Megatrends research when crafting strategy at the company level, and at the level of each of our organizations for business planning. When we look at megatrends in the context of dynamic, global changes occurring around us, we often see emerging themes being driven by the confluence of megatrends and their sub- trends, offering us further insights, opportunities, and challenges. Megatrends also help drive our thought lead- ership with our employees, customers, and 42 HP Innovation Journal Issue 12 partners who want to know what we’re thinking about the future. In addition to futurecasting, they’re interested in key trends, how they may impact their businesses, and the products and solutions we offer. HP Megatrends research makes an impact on each organization within our company. This year, we partnered on the broadest level yet across the company for collaboration on our HP Mega- trends report. To demonstrate the breadth of the HP Megatrends’ research reach, we’ve asked four HP innovators to share how it has helped trans- form their organizations.
