Megatrends offer insights into where the future is heading,
helping us to create new experiences and solutions that
are representative of the rapidly changing world we live
and work in. Looking at megatrends in light of the ever-changing
landscape around us, and grounded in technology
advancements, enables you to dynamically identify areas
of opportunity for your customers and partners.
In this issue of the Journal, Shane Wall shared the
overview of our 2019 Megatrends Report. He shared
how megatrends will help us better anticipate what our
customers and users will want and need in the future,
and the types of experiences that will be important to
deliver. How we enable those experiences often falls to
new technologies. New, disruptive technologies allow us
to innovate and create new experiences that customers
might not even know they need or want yet, fundamen-
tally changing their lives. As a futurist, my job is to discern
the trends around us and let my
imagination go in order to future-
cast what might happen, and then
turn those findings into business
action. As the pace of change con-
tinues to increase, it’s imperative
that we stay ahead of this change
to shape our own future.
