Inspired by metal mesh fabric found on
vintage handbags, but only possible with
3D printing. Printed fully assembled, the
“fabric” drapes softly, while the scales add
further visual and acoustic dimensionality
as the object moves.

This computationally-designed
fabric links stars in a playful
variant of chain mail. The stars’
size and number of points
can easily be changed and
customized, with a new swatch
subsequently printed.
