In the largest deal to date for our packaging
business, ePac Flexible Packaging, the all-HP
Indigo digital flexible packaging leader, announced
this year a purchase of 20 HP Indigo 20000
digital presses to expand its business strategically
throughout the United States. The order is
estimated to be worth over $100 million, including
hardware, supplies and services.
In line with our Power of Print strategy, graphics
innovation is not only transforming industries,
it’s transforming mindsets. This spring, we digitally
printed 50,000 personalized ELLE Magazine covers
with custom notes to the magazine’s subscribers
from Kim Kardashian. It proved print’s potential
to disrupt an everyday, expected experience and
delight a brand’s customers. This fall, to empower
the next generation of digital print designers,
we unveiled a new plugin for Adobe Illustrator
that optimizes print-ready files during the
production process.
PAYING IT FORWARD
Our intention was not just to spark a renaissance,
but to sustain it. Which is why we continue to
map out a progressive and expansive vision
for our future. In graphics, for example, Total
Addressable Market (TAM) CAGR is 3% through
2022. We are laser-focused to capture this growth
through unique products and solutions that
enable customization and personalization, and the
attractive opportunities to reduce both inventory
and turnaround time for print service providers.
In the home category, we aim to strengthen HP’s
position as the top choice for printers by both
driving print relevance and creating experiences
that amaze. Our Instant Ink program serves as a
growth agent to the lifestyle photo category where
we reconnect consumers with the power of
print. To enable broader market adoption of
original inks, we are aggressively expanding our
ink tank program.
In the office, we are focused on growing
contractual printing—a $90 billion opportunity
and growing—while placing a special focus on
services where half of the opportunity lies. By
focusing on solutions that change how businesses
work and print like the Jet Advantage Link
cloud-based developer platform, which enables
the creation of custom apps that improve print
workflows, we keep print relevant and in the
path of digital workflows. Smart Device Services
redefine serviceability using big data, machine
learning, and AI to create a world where printers
may never go down. This disruptive technology
and innovation improves the customer experience
while also lowering the cost structure of delivering
services for our partners.

This year, HP is celebrating 80 years. It’s a legacy
that we can proudly say has resulted in the most
robust print intellectual property portfolio on
the planet and charts our course as leaders in
the industry.
This technological toolbox
enables us to do amazing work,
like print on wood and metal
and, soon, textiles. It provides
the platform for us to make a
difference in our community, as
we are in our partnership with
the Centers for Disease Control,
speeding up antibiotic testing
with our HP bioprinters.
Our technology portfolio also enables and inspires
our future. Earlier this year, we launched the HP
ENVY Zero Gravity printer to the International
Space Station aboard a SpaceX rocket. It is the first
new printer on the International Space Station in
17 years and enables astronauts not only to print
mission-critical documents, but photographs of
loved ones back home. The printer was powered
by a collection of HP 3D-printed parts—designed
and built by HP engineers after decades of print
research and development. It is this research and
development that is now primed and positioned to
drive the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
