OUR MINDS
Computer hardware and
software allow our brain to access
information faster, but they rely
on our interaction.
We ask Alexa a question, swipe our
mobile phone screens, or gesture

computing devices. In the near future, many of us will
augment our cognitive capabilities via direct, seamless
interfaces with computation and information. Medical
advancements in areas such as tissue and genetic engineering
point to a future in which we can correct or avoid physical
limitations—not just manage them.
