Dion Weisler, President and CEO of HP, giving his keynote at the HP Reinvent World Partner Forum 2017 T wo years ago, HP and our partners set out to create a new kind of tech- nology company, with a mission to engineer experiences that amaze, for ev- eryone, everywhere. Our world is being digitally transformed every day, and the rate of change is happening at a stagger- ing pace. As needs change, this presents us with new opportunities aligned to our strengths. To accelerate into the future, every business will need to transform their op- erations — creating new business oppor- tunities, new revenue streams and more engaged customers. Together, we’re opening a door to the future. By understanding the digital trans- formations shaping our future world, we can determine where to invest today to help our mutual customers anticipate and create the solutions required for their customers. The global Megatrends are not only trans- forming the world, they’re also info rming our strategy and innovation pipeline. Rapid urbanization, an increasingly mo- bile and changing workforce and acceler- ated innovation are three of these large trends shaping society, technology and, ultimately, customer behavior. Rapid urbanization is changing what we buy, how we buy it, and how we consume products and services. Dense populations and constrained resources will drive expo- nential growth in Everything as a Service (see page 14), which offers the ability to scale massively with minimal capital ex- penditure. As people and businesses live in smaller spaces, it’s less about owning a resource, and more about having access to it on an as-needed basis. An increasingly mobile and changing workforce will continue to drive demand for the thinnest, most powerful devices available and mobile access to computing, printing, 3D printing, and related services. The future belongs to those who believe in harnessing the tremendous opportunity today. — Dion Weisler, President & CEO, HP With more devices and more data will come an increased volume of security risks. HP continues to invest in not only making our products and solutions more secure, but in driving standards that push the entire industry toward better, more proactive defenses against a proliferating array of threats. The third driver of digital transforma- tion is accelerated innovation. As we all know in this business, the pace of change is exponential, not linear. The rapid pace of change we are experiencing today will only accelerate moving forward. With tech- nological advancements and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), everything we do and experience is being driven by data and predictive analytics. AI will unlock new busi- ness models that will change the world, cre- ating entirely new business outcomes and value creation opportunities for partners. For instance, a combination of AI and 3D Printing enables generative design — where algorithms create the best design and 3D printing enables a world where manufac- turing is complexity free. Socio-economic, demographic and tech- nological forces are dramatically shaping our future, creating shifts on a scale the world hasn’t seen in hundreds of years. With the speed of digital change, custom- ers are investing and adapting to the future digital world to meet the needs of their customers — but they cannot do it alone. They need HP and the help of our partners. The future belongs to those who be- lieve in harnessing the tremendous op- portunity today. There has never been a better time to be in this business than right now, and there has never been a brighter future than what’s ahead of us.  Issue 8 · Winter 2017 · Innovation Journal 5
