Originally from Macon , Georgia , Joan graduated from the University of Georgia then moved to Hilton Head and worked in retail sales and marketing for over 20 years . In 2005 , she made the leap into real estate with Collins Group Realty as a Buyer ’ s Specialist . A career in real estate affords her the opportunity to meet new people , listen to their needs and help them find them the perfect property ! Not only is she passionate about assisting her clients , but she is also very involved in the community , including volunteering with Meals on Wheels , community service and special events comittees with the local realtors association and First Presbyterian Church . Her interests outside of work include traveling , playing tennis , and enjoying the water . She and her husband , Charlie , and their dog , Dooley , are avid boaters .
