Color is very important when you ’ re presenting a home for sale . Good presentation does NOT mean creating a strong color scheme . It ’ s essential to put personal color preferences aside and go for broad appeal . In my experience the best results have come by using a plain or warm white right through . Be careful trimming doorways and skirting boards with a contrasting color . The great thing about white is that you will impress more people . White is an excellent background “ canvas ” for the other features you will add .
My personal favorite white is called “ Chalk USA .” I usually dilute to half strength . It will give you a very classic look . You might also try “ Antique White .” Your local , paint shop or DIY store can guide you on this .
I suggest you use matt on walls . For the doors and door frames , gloss is best . Good paint stores will offer you a small sample to try . Add the sample color near the floor covering to gauge how they look together .
