Someone once told me the secret to business success is to find out why your clients hired you instead of your competition . This answer then becomes your marketing platform , your point of difference or unique selling proposition to include in your marketing .
So every time a property seller hired me to help them sell I would ask this question . Sometimes I had to do a little “ digging ” to get to the real reason , as a question like this can often put someone on the spot .
There were always competitors who would charge a lower fee than me and many had vast resources or belonged to huge real estate groups with awesome marketing power . It was fun to compete in this environment because I could always show new clients how my system could help them achieve a better selling price . But the answer to my question never had anything to do with money .
