E - Enthusiasm & Encouragement – The manager must at all
times show enthusiasm for the objectives ahead and encourage
the employee to do as best they can
S - Support. The manager must always show support for the
employee in the tasks agreed and must also ask if there is any
support that they have to put in
The OUTCOMES coaching model was designed for managers and
sales managers to use, but it is clear to see how it could be
adapted for teachers.
It is suggested that this in-depth approach to coaching will
enable an increase in the coachee’s understanding of the issue,
which will result in motivation to change and then commitment
to action. Although this model needs a disciplined approach to
coaching, it is a model that, when used effectively, has been
shown to motivate and produce results for both coach and
coachee.
